[Themed Exhibition] Kawasaki Green Innovation creates the future
In addition to looking back on the initiatives implemented to date by Kawasaki, an environmentally-advanced city that has built up a wealth of excellent environmental technologies and know-how while striking a harmonious balance between environment and economy, the exhibition also features the future outlook for green innovation.
After the period of rapid economic growth, the corporations, citizens, and Kawasaki City have worked hard to address pollution problems, and as a result, built up a wealth of excellent environmental technologies and knowhow.
Kawasaki City has developed as an industrial city. However, in recent years, the city has actively driven forward initiatives in research and development in fields such as environment and life sciences, with the establishment of research and developmental hubs such as Shin-Kawasaki Sozo no Mori and KING SKYFRONT (Kawasaki INnovation Gateway at SKYFRONT), as well as the concentration of about 400 research and development institutions in the city.
Here, we offer a glimpse into the past and future of Kawasaki through a look at the advanced environmental initiatives that Kawasaki City and corporations in the city have taken the lead in implementing to date, as well as the future vision of Kawasaki City.
Exhibition Featuring a Rich Variety of Cars
DeLorean
DeLorean that is a familiar sight to audiences from the film Back to the Future is on display at the venue. Through the technology of JEPLAN, INC., discarded clothes have been transformed into a biofuel to power this car.
First-generation Crown
The first-generation Crown is the first full-fledged passenger car developed solely through Japanese technology. Visitors can experience starting the engine of the vehicle.
