| kawasaki biomass electric power | 【Industrial information】 Our power generation equipment supplies "CO2-free electricity," so it is friendly to the environment. This power generation equipment burns wood-based biomass as fuel, and thus does not use fossil fuels such as oil or coal.At kawasaki biomass electric power, we generate enough electricity to power approximately 38,000 general households for a period of one year, and have succeeded in reducing CO2 emissions by about 120,000 t per year. We are the "only urban-type biomass power generation plant in Japan" that is equipped with environmentally-friendly equipment such as flue gas desulfurization systems and flue gas denitrification systems, which cannot be found at regional biomass power generation plants, and thus we are able to pass the strict environmental regulations of Kawasaki City. |

We have been implementing the separation of plastic containers and wrapping on a city-wide basis since September 2013, and currently we have a separation and collection system in which nine types of items are divided into eight different categories. Thus, we are working hard to reduce the volume of garbage and recycle in collaboration with our citizens. |

We are located in places such as Kawasaki City, which is playing a leading role in this field as an eco-town region. Ricoh, as an emissions supplier, is currently developing new technologies for the recovery of kerosene, heavy oils, and carbon, in order to "extract oil" from various types of supply products that undergo thermal processing.As a partner company, we are aiming to promote overall recycling initiatives for Kawasaki Eco-town and further stimulate environmental industries in the city, and thus we are realizing and examining projects that apply technologies such as these. |

We have made the heat source for our oil conversion equipment an electric heater, so sound and vibrations have been reduced, uneven humidity levels inside boilers have been eliminated, and post-treatment residues can be removed as smooth carbide. |
