ADVANCE RIKO, Inc. | 【Industrial information】 So far, ADVANCE RIKO, Inc.(the former name of ULVAC-RIKO, Inc.) have manufactured and sold the cutting-edge product, which the heat technology has been applied to. Infrared ray furnaces are applied to the developments of the special steel sheet, LED in order to promote the achievement of the low carbon society. In addition, instruments to evaluate the physical property of the thermoelectric materials to support the realization of its society have been developed. In this exhibition, ULVAC-RIKO,Inc. will show the “portable small electric generation system”, which can thoroughly transform the low heat source as factory waste heat into the electricity. |

Kanagawa Institute of Technology | 【Industrial information】 The Kanagawa Institute of Technology is located in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is a university that has a Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Creative Engineering, Facility of Applied Bioscience, and Faculty of Information Technology, and it cultivates specialists who can identify and solve problems, and who are needed by society. The Institute for Advanced Utilization of Solar Energy is based on elemental technologies that it has developed as part of the FY2007 "High-Tech Research Center Project for Private Universities," a matching fund subsidy from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. It is moving forward with research and practical applications, with regard to the highly efficient power conversion of solar energy, the effective use of all-weather solar heat, hydrogen storage and use, fuel cell systems, electric fixed-route bus systems, and campus energy systems. |
【Exhibition information】 Exercise bikes generate electricity with human power, and we use this electricity to split water and generate hydrogen. Furthermore, using this hydrogen, we manufacture hydrogen water, which is said to be effective for promoting health and preventing aging. Visitors will see and experience our system, in which an exercise bike is operated in order to get exercise and receive positive health effects. |

Kawasaki Environment Research Institute Urban Environment Section | 【Industrial information】 We at the Environment Research Institute Urban Environment Section are located inside the Kawasaki Life Science & Environment Research Center at the Tonomachi International Strategic Base. We carry out comprehensive research on the environment in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the National Institute for Environmental Studies, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), universities, and other external research institutes, as well as companies in the city that have outstanding environmental technologies. |

Committee for synergy in Keihin industrial complex | 【Industrial information】 The initiatives related to increasing the efficiency of business activities and saving energy that we carry out at the Committee for Synergy in the Keihin Industrial Complex, are already being carried out at the level of individual companies, so in order to develop these initiatives further, we need to promote collaboration among companies that goes beyond the barriers between different types of industries. Our committee is includes 14 companies from a wide range of industries, such as petroleum refining, petrochemicals, iron and steel, chemicals, cement, power, and gas. We have set forth a goal of "building a smart Keihin industrial complex," and thus we are aiming to develop a complex that serves as a model for the world with regard to industries, harmony with the environment, virtuous cycles, and production with a small environmental load. |
